This pretty lady was rather an outcast as a kid that no one really wanted, as she was well kinda ugly. When she freshened last year for the first time I wasn’t really thrilled about what I was seeing, however I gave her time throughout lactation. And she definitely had lots of good things going like her rear udder height/attachment, udder texture, depth of body, and her overall dairyness. 

I decided to bite the bullet and keep her another year and boy am I sure glad I did! She freshened this year with increased capacity, better rear udder height/attachment which I didn’t think was possible. She also had improvements in her fore udder, and medial suspensory ligament which pulled her teats in more. She also had lots of growth in her body.

She easily earned her *M this year milking 5.8lbs with a butterfat of 5.55%. She is also on 305 day milk test and I am expecting big things!

She was classified this year and classified respectively well. She needs more maturity in her body to score better but otherwise I’m thrilled! She even received an 89 in Rump & Mammary System as a second freshener.

Maddie also entered the show ring for the first time, at just 15 days fresh. She was competing in the second the largest class of the day, and placed towards the back of the line up as expected with her being so fresh and it being such a tough class!

I’m excited to watch this doe grow and can’t wait to see what her future holds!
