About Viking
Where do I even begin with this stellar buck!
Viking is a lovely buck who has a long level topline with strong feet & legs. He has nice front end assembly and overall width and depth of body. He’s been making some incredible improvements on his daughters in general appearance and dairy strength, as-well as in the mammary system. He’s been improving rear udder height/attachment, teat size/placement, medial suspensory ligament, fore udder attachments and extension, as-well as capacity and butterfat.
He classified EX90 last year as a 3yr old and then classified EX90 again this year.
His dam is one of our foundation does here Graceland NK French Franc 2*M. She is a super productive doe who has easily earned her *M twice, and classified respectably well for her age with a 91 in rump. She is also on 305 day milk test this year and is projected to produce 1200lbs.
Viking’s sire is Potting Shed HC Sun Bear who has loads of promising daughters on the ground. He is a paternal sibling to the well known Potting Shed HC Asher +S VG89 (Overheight) who is known for adding loads of capacity with daughters exceeding the 6lbs mark on a 1 Day Milk Test.
Sun Bear’s sire Rosasharn MM Hermit Crab who classified VG87 as a yearling. His dam is SG Rosasharn HB Kujira 4*M. She is a super heavy milker with a well attached udder and very long teats. She took the #1 spot for production on the ADGA Top Ten List in 2014, milking 1510lbs in 305 days in her 6th freshening. She LA’d EEEE91 as an 8 (almost 9) year old.
Viking’s paternal Grandam Potting Shed FG Maggie who classified VG89. As a 4th freshener, she was producing 3 litres of milk a day during her peak. Maggie’s full littermate sister was Grand Champion at the 2017 Canadian East National Show. Maggie’s 2016 doelings won East National Junior Champion, and the other was 1st place yearling milker.
